(14 posts)If only we could have won the election . . . or if we could have kept Elon from stealing it. We knew what would happen if we lost in November. Everyone should have known. It was spelled out. There never was or ever will be a clearer choice than voters faced in November: democracy or tyranny, decency or depravity. It was never about politics. As Cory Booker said for over 25 hours, it's not about right or left, it's about right or wrong. That's why criticism of the Democratic Party baffles me. What the hell can anyone do when slightly more than half the country allegedly votes for a convicted criminal, sex pervert, pathological liar, psychopath, sociopath, egomaniac, religious hypocrite, failed and twice-impeached former "president" who has gone bankrupt six times (including three casinos), who's been a Russian asset for decades, and who tried to steal the 2020 election and who led a traitorous assault on the nation's capitol in broad daylight? The guy is about 80 years old, has the temper of a two-year-old, the vocabulary of a fourth grader, and the eloquence and intelligence of plywood.
If this country had enough decent human beings in it, there never would have been a Trump presidency. Never.
But when we have a country filled with racist, sexist, ignorant fools, what's the solution? Reduce the price of eggs? C'mon.
We have great human beings, decent, empathetic leaders like Harris and Walz, Shapiro and Whitmer, Booker and Warnock . . . and the list goes on and on and on. And yet look at the MAGA scum we have in the White House, the Cabinet, the Congress . . .
Again, the question in November was do you want decent people running this country or do you want criminal billionaires? Are you going to vote for right or wrong? And the majority of American voters, apparently--with their eyes wide open--voted for wrong. How could anyone have changed that?
