If it is, we are lost. Being just enough better than the worst isn't what its about. Its about being the best we can be.
And looking at history.. There are plenty of folk alive, probably even a number here, who remember when (D) and Klan were largely overlapping. Most of us understand that times have changed and that it is radically not the same now, but that is still part of our history. The filibuster record that Booker was breaking.. was that of a Democrat trying to prevent the passage of civil rights. Democrats have done terrible things. We need to learn from those things, not ignore them.

Do R's make mistakes? I think they act with intent. The actions may be clearly wrong to us but not to them
