Also shelf sale tags positioned above items that weren’t on sale (like, same brand but a different variety or size with the specifics in small type or hard to read, especially if you aren’t wearing glasses).

I remember when stores would honor the sale price as a goodwill gesture but now, at this store in particular, employees just shrug. Same as when I pointed out all available containers of a particular dairy product were on their sell-by date.
