Really amazing job by the pilots that they were able to save anyone on this flight. This jumped out at me:

Expert United and McDonnell Douglas pilots were unable to reproduce a survivable landing; according to a United pilot who flew with Fitch, "Most of the simulations never even made it close to the ground".

Search youtube for UAL 232 and lots of documentaries show up.
