They are "liberals" that feel "uncomfortable" about being liberals/democrats. Gnawing at them in the back of their minds is their Republican Daddy's voice telling them that the Republicans are the party of fiscal and moral responsibility. And they can't "shake" it. That's my fucking take anyway...
