The latter is a comfort at times like this.
His definition of dogs nicely describes De Santis in particular and Republicans in general: " Yap dogs, lap dogs, snap dogs! Leakers, reekers, smilers and defilers. I love them not."
As one would imagine, Bitter Bierce was a cat person.
