autism. It hasn't been for the faint of heart. I have the healed broken bones, bruises, broken dishes, broken big appliances, and thoroughly trashed bedroom suite (drywall, doors, cabinetry, etc) to show for it. It's been almost impossible to get an aide (he requires two). And social services are scant, depending on where you live. I'd rather my son be able to take care of himself, earn a living, etc. I wish CRISPR could help him.
I'm happy for you, and glad that your child is good natured. But you cannot assume that about all Down Syndrome children. My banker said his DS son is a mean grumpy kid the first half of the day.
