But I think the intended insinuation was that the scope of his crimes would've been much smaller and therefore the scale of the 'Epstein Story' would've been much more limited. IOW it's 'the story', more so than 'the man' that's meant by 'there'd be no Epstein'.

And in that context it's probably mostly true. She recruited a LOT of his teen victims, nearly all the ones we've ever heard from, and I'm sure the presence of a woman there like her made them feel 'safer' going to Epstein's houses than they ever would have if it was him trying to lure them there.

They are BOTH monsters and she was a very major facilitator and accomplice in his crimes.
