7. The decent hosts at MSNBC and our Democratic politicians may think that we've "checked out"

Large numbers of us stopped watching MSNBC (I recognize that many cut cable long ago), and I don’t know about you all, but I have had zero patience for fundraising emails from politicians or action groups. It’s not that I’ve “checked out”; it’s that we seriously overestimated the ability of even those decent or well-meaning forces to be effective or protect us.
(By “us”, I mean the country, the United States — not just Democrats. Most people on DU would get that, but any red hat visitors might need it spelled out for them, since they have so little thoughts outside of their own self and their own tribe.)

I don’t know what strategy makes sense right now,, and kudos to the fighters in the ring, but seriously, we haven’t checked out. We’re attending to life-planning, trying out different communication techniques, keeping our sanity, and waiting for some clarity: What is actually effective and what will just waste time and resources (while enriching the very companies that got us in this mess.)
