In reply to the discussion: Democratic leaders will support resolution honoring Charlie Kirk [View all]Crunchy Frog
(28,067 posts)67. Yeah, I kind of think that the country going fascist and our party leaders bowing down to it is kind of important.
And it will absolutely have repercussions far beyond a simple "political stunt".
I support people's right to be apathetic about politics, but don't really expect to see it on a political discussion board.

Well, anyway. Try not to worry too much. It's only as important as you let it become.

Worrying won't change anything. So the energy spent doing that could be put to better use, yes?

Yes let's conflate Charlie Kreist and his myriad bigotries with a wish to condemn political violence.

Good thing that maggots can't read. That bullshit is enough to gag a maggot to death.

No one should be signing on to this. No one. It's glorifying hate. It is un-American.

The Senate apparently unanimously passed a resolution. It was toned down from the House version

I'd never ever say that this is an attempt to blunt GOP criticism. But it is a bad move for whatever reason.

WTF? That's like an endorsement of Charlie Kirk's feelings on trans people or women or gun rights over life.
