1. correct. for this reason, i don't like calling their double-standard "hypocrisy"

a matter of semantics, i suppose, but i think "hypocrisy" is when you believe in a general principle, but then don't apply it to yourself or your team or your side. in the usual case, most people know they are violating their own principles and can be shamed or eventually will acknowledge they are being inconsistent.

fascists aren't inconsistent at all. on the contrary, they are quite consistent. the only principles they have focus on power and rights of the "in" group at the expense of "others".

they're not being inconsistent when they say they have free speech but "others" don't, because that's exactly the principle they believe in. if they ever say something that seems to acknowledge rights and powers of "others", they're lying. they believe in a hierarchical society with themselves on top and others beneath them.

so i don't see fascism as being "hypocritical". i see it as having a principles that are fundamentally unfairly allocated and evil.
