(15,621 posts)27. Sinclair ABC affiliates not running an ABC program leave it open for another TV station in the market to pick it up.
If a station with a network affiliation preempts one of the networks show, another TV station of no affiliation or even another network affiliation can pick up and run the preempted show.
So, if an ABC affiliate doesn't want to run Kimmel, a CBS station can. Or an independent station.
I would love to see some rival stations in a Sinclair market essentially but legally pirate the Kimmel show away.

One of the few things we might disagree on! Evertthing he's done has been gold, but I thought the Report was the best ..

Supposedly only through May. I'm really hoping that he has a chance now that Jimmy Kimmel does

I guess that makes me lucky, the Sinclair station in my area (Albany, NY) is a CBS affiliate

That's just Sinclair being Sinclair. A very conservative company that's been buying up stations since the 70s.

Letters do work, especially to the advertisers. Especially in in a tanking TACO economy.

Exactly. Sinclair is not Disney. Disney is not Sinclair. Disney does not own Sinclair. Disney can't force Sinclair. .nt

Customers can force Sinclair advertisers to stop advertising on the Sinclair channels.

Wrong target. SINCLAIR are dragging their feet to save face but are officially "considering it". Testing the wind.
