yesterday about the Comey grand jury. Of course most of the media discussion has been about the procedural snafu about not showing the second indictment to the full grand jury. I note that now the DOJ claims they did and that they were in "error" when they said they hadn't.
But former DOJ official Mary McCord said something about some things in the transcript that are actually even more mind blowing.
She said there is a part of the transcript where Halligan instructs the jury members that the burden at trial is on Comey to prove his innocence. A statement that is clearly contradictory to fact. The second, and even more troubling statement, was reference by Halligan to the grand jury that the government has even newer and "better" evidence. Saying such a thing about material not presented to the grand jury is outrageous and on it's face should be enough evidence of purposeful misconduct to grant the motion to dismiss the indictment based on malicious prosecution and to move for a complaint against the license of Halligan.
