22. Do police usually carry paintball guns?

Do they use those to shoot pepper balls, or something? I noticed one of the assholes in the video who was keeping the doctor from trying to get to the woman just had a paintball gun. I didn't know if that was normal or if it was some worthless piece of shit who isn't even allowed to carry a firearm...not that I want him to.
