13. All of the MAGA talking heads have been VERY defensive about this incident.

Trump favorite Scott Jennings toed the line on CNN last night but seemed off his footing and very defensive. Noem has been defensive. Vance is defensive.

They know this is not a net positive politically and they are fearful it might turn into something more significant than it already is.

His supporters are gleeful over the execution of Renee Good, but they don’t matter much. Neither do we for that matter. The people that got him back in office were independent voters that were with Biden in 2020 and swung back in 2024. All of the polling seems to point to trumps ice and NG crackdowns being unpopular even before Good was executed. There’s no way this situation improves that.
