8. The administration's lies

have to match the level of revulsion the public is experiencing. For a little lie will not do.

The coward who murdered here was mighty fast on the draw. He had hoped for the opportunity to shoot someone, anyone. Decades ago, a new officer on his first day in a village near here acted in a manner that resulted in changes in state policy before a person was given a badge and gun. I remember the day clearly.

This new "officer" started pulling drivers over for going 35 mph in a 30 mph zone, approaching with gun drawn, and pointing in the driver's window. Thus, he was brought into the clinic for evaluation. One of my co-workers tended to that. It was, obviously, the end of the pathetic fellow's lawn enforcement career. Soon after this, the state's policy included a mental health evaluation as part of the training for local, county, and state police.

When I watched the film of yesterday's murder, I thought of that geek. Interestingly, two of my kids mentioned him when we discussed the murder. That quick draw says it all.
