One degrades and active threatens, the other is defensively threatening.
The difference is between "Comply to what I say or Die, Shitscum" or "Dickhead, I got rights, you're in the wrong here..."
Where's the power balance, again?
So, yeah, sure sounds like both sides hate speech to me...
