13. Hmong people began arriving in the US as refugees from the SE Asia war in the late '70s.

Many of them had assisted the CIA in operations in Laos. There haven't been many new refugees since 2001 when the Patriot Act clamped down on immigration, and, like the Somalis, a lot of the Hmong people in MN are American-born. I assume the latest ICE siege is to arrest and deport the (now) old people who arrived in the '70s.
