6. I don't live in a black & white world of either/or absolutism

I can see the gray areas and the shadows, the exceptions and the inconsistencies as well as the patterns.

I don’t scan headlines, tweets or Tik Toks and become 100% convinced of anything, including the OP’s assertion that the entire armed forces are our enemies, and will absolutely, positively, blindly follow any and every unlawful order given by the president.

It is charming that you believe that all is well, children.

It is amusing that you are charmed by something I never said or implied - I only took exception to the OP’s broad brush attack on the military.

Tell me this: Where is the long list I'm sure you have at hand of the U.S. Military defying the orders of any president?

It rarely if ever gets that far - more often, the military advisers pushback against the suggestion of unlawful orders that never get issued. Yes, troops have committed atrocities and war crimes, some of which have been punished, some not. Trump 2.0 has fired the veteran JAGs and replaced them with Yes Men who will concoct contorted legal rationales for whatever orders Trump decides to issue, providing a veneer of protection for those who follow those orders.

We shall see what comes of it all.

Despite all this back and forth, my point still stands - the OP wrongly attacked the entire armed services of the US- there is plenty to criticize, but to make such a broad based accusation is unfair or not supported by facts.
