that they wanted, but it appears that they did NOT want to do in the first place....

"Uninvestable"--- was that the word that they used ??
https://corporate.exxonmobil.com/news/news-releases/2026/our-perspective-regarding-the-situation-in-venezuela#Darrendeliveredthefollowingremarks
"If we look at the legal and commercial constructs—frameworks—in place today in Venezuela, today it’s uninvestable. And so significant changes have to be made to those commercial frameworks, the legal system, there has to be durable investment protections, and there has to be a change to the hydrocarbon laws in the country."

Those oil company leaders are reluctant to invest anything,
without 'political stability' happening first!--

Just my personal opinion--- but it seems that any oil company who sought to exploit
Venezuela's reputed oil reserves, would be putting any employees they sought to send there
into grave danger, from all the independent armed gangs which operate in that country---
without a full-on U.S. military occupation happening first!

(and many of those gangs have ALREADY vowed to resist with armed force
any U.S. takeover of the country! It sounds worse than Iraq--
since these groups are already organized BEFORE any U.S. occupation!---

Great formula for "another Vietnam" or a "worse than Iraq" result!)
