(54,853 posts)In less than 1 year and I told my doctor that I would disappear before Xmas. He thought I was kidding but I was serious and by Xmas I was 81 pounds. He is a Dem who also hates tRump and he is super skinny so he shouldn't talk when he said he thought that there was more to it (like dieting and not stress related weight loss).
I made a big error and tried to eat super fatty foods which I normally never eat at Christmas time. I thought it would be OK, why not? Well, I found out why not!
At Xmas I ate my mother's beef wellington with puff pastry, etc and a few days later I ate an appetizer of red pork belly at a wedding dinner I usually don't eat red meat or pork (not a fan of the flavor).
After Xmas I got super bloated and after the wedding dinner I got much worse and super fast. I looked Like I was 8 months pregnant and felt that sore and uncomfortable for 3 weeks straight. It was like I had a soft ball in my abdomen. I couldn't even poke my belly...hard as a rock. After 3 weeks of this I tried to figure out if the red meat I ate could have caused this reaction (I was trying to problem solve for weeks, process of elimination) so I Googled "does red meat cause irritable bowels?" And it turned out IT DOES!
From what I gathered the amino acids in high fat meats cause reactions in the bowels and this was the source of my discomfort.
So i suggest avoiding fatty red meats to gain weight unless that is a normal part of your diet.
To gain healthy weigh eat a lot of nuts (high fat) or butter on everything, not sugar. Sugars can screw up your blood and your teeth so avoid that as a weight gain source. Fried anything will add weight so you can eat all the junk food you want. Look at tRump as an a
example.
