1. The plan backfired on Trump.

Thursday

CBS increased their viewership. Colbert increased his reputation. Talarico increased his visibility and poll numbers. But Trump, the one who pressured CBS to not air the interview, probably decreased his party's chances of keeping the Texas Senate seat.
