Iran massacre... how many killed, disappeared and jailed? 30,000?

1. Sadly, in a dictatorial theocracy such as this, no holds-barred response for violence against

"the other." While we have the luxury of pursuing peaceful protest from the Civil Right's Era to today (and I truly hope we can continue to do so), this only underscores that not all countries, settings, or times are so conducive to doing so. Russia being but one NON-theocratic, yet dictatorial example--there are many.

When peaceful protesters are murdered in increasing numbers I don't know that that the US will remain unchanged in terms of nonviolent response--as well.

As for the numbers in Iran, Trump sent an overt message to the protesters that he was going to intervene months ago and that regime change was going to be the result. They were emboldened or at least reassured that "help would be on the way." Sadly, they believed him and the numbers dead and imprisoned/disappeared--whatever enormous number is accurate--is the result.
