(1,935 posts)I HOPE that either candidate can win in November, but Texas goes red every single time. Crockett has never had to compete in a race that was actually competitive. Her House district is a safe blue district. I am worried that she would face a lot of difficulty running in the Texas general where she would need to pick up votes from the middle in order to have any chance of winning, because her messaging is very divisive. She might inspire dems to get out and vote, but she will absolutely fire up the right and the middle to vote against her, too, to make sure she doesn't get that seat.
Talarico is the only candidate who has FLIPPED a solid red district and won his seat. His messaging reaches across the middle and can get independent votes, and I believe this why? Because he's done it before. She hasn't.
