family was DEFINITELY a needed thing to have. It took us about a year to get her affairs straight, get the house cleared and prepped for sale (e.g., she had a baby grand piano that needed to be taken care of), and finally get the house sold... and having one of my sisters' hubby working in real estate was a definite benefit for what needed to be done.
