Tax the rich is not even a slur, it is recommending an action. Not to mention, bring very very rich is not a powerless group that needs protection.

Not to mention, maybe those saying tax the rich might praise them if they SUPPORTED increasing taxes on themselves.

Note they get abundant praise and recognition when they give large donations.
