Former colleague has friends in the NWS who’ve told her some folks are being temporarily deployed to NWS offices with staff shortages. Many government offices outside of the military have hiring freezes so this only makes the situation worse.

Again, I blame the M$M for not covering this all that well. I learn more from places like this and the comment section than from reporters these days.
