3. When I first heard of Comey Barrett adopted Haitian kids

all I could think of was the Law & Order episode that dealt with a phony adoption outfit:

"Chattel" (Law & Order Season 19, Episode 8), which first aired in January 2009.

Episode Summary
The story begins with the murder of two divorce lawyers, Fred and Lizzy Bellamy. During the investigation, Detectives Lupo and Bernard discover that the lawyers were planning to blow the whistle on a Haitian child slavery ring.

The Slavery Ring: The investigation leads to Eric and Miriam Johnson, who operate a ring where children from Haiti are brought to the U.S. under the guise of adoption. Instead of being raised as family members, these children are sold to wealthy households to serve as domestic slaves (often referred to in the episode using the Haitian term restavek).
Patrick Johnson: A key character is 12-year-old Patrick, an "adopted" Haitian boy who works for the Johnsons. It is eventually revealed that Patrick was coerced into committing the murders by the Johnsons' biological daughter, Karen, who threatened that he would be sent back to Haiti or become homeless if her parents were arrested.

Not that I think this is true of Comey Barrett, even though she is a racist.
