ABC / WaPo Poll: 28% of Americans support Rapin' Bombin' Golfin' Felon Grampy's Ballroom. IT'S A MANDATE, a LANDSLIDE! [View all]

Public support for Donald Trump's White House ballroom, the president's signature construction project of his second term, has barely budged since he and his allies have argued that it's badly needed to ensure the safety of the Trump administration.

A new ABC and Washington Post poll found that only 28% of Americans support the project, while 56% oppose it. Those numbers haven't move at all since the outlets last conducted a survey on the project in October.

"This ballroom is, simply put, unpopular," CNN's Harry Enten said during a broadcast analyzing the poll's numbers. Enten added that the ballroom's 28% approval rating lags behind the belief among Americans of ghosts and telepathy, according to polls by Gallup and the Washington Post and ABC News.

Support failed to budge even after a gunman attempted to attack Trump administration officials at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and as Trump allies argued a secure ballroom could have prevented the episode.
