18. Is it laziness?

It seems that more and more posts are what I call "blank" posts, which consist of nothing but a link to some other site. This disturbs me, because so many of those links are to out-and-out evil sites like google (including googletube), meta, or x. Almost as bad are the links to unknown potentially spyware-laden sites.

The internet is home to Bond villains, thieves, and other bad actors these days.

I wish posters would take the trouble to write a sentence or a paragraph describing what the link is about, before we either
- monetize Musk, Zuckerberg, Brin or some other vampire oligarch
- expose ourselves to possible spyware bad actors.

It has something to do with informed consent, ya know.

Sometimes I feel generous and ascribe this to the proliferation of snark phones with their tiny screens, hard to type on. Other times I think it's a sign of advancing illiteracy .

If the poster can't take a minute to type a description or summary, I certainly can't waste my time watching/listening to ad-filled videos or clicking on iffy links. This "laziness" seems very rude to me. It's saying that MY time is not important compared to the poster's time.
