Trump now is 80 and despite the spin and denials, his physical and mental decline is increasingly apparent. He knows his time is limited and seems focused on enjoying it, regardless of the consequences. He’s surrounded by cowards and sycophants, while the systems meant to hold power in check are failing. The media, too, is falling short. As a result, our country and our democracy feel closer than ever to a worst-case scenario.
