The 41-year-old VP appeared on Fox and Friends on Saturday, June 20, where he addressed the continuing negotiations with Iran involving Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff following the duo's trip to Switzerland. During the broadcast, Vance was asked whether he intended to join them at the peace-making discussions, prompting a revealing response that drew intense backlash from viewers. Vance said, "I expect that I will leave some time in the next couple of days. But you know, it's always a delicate coordination dance with the diplomatic protocols. I've gotta be honest with you -- I don't really understand these things. I've never been particularly into the diplomatic protocols. My attitude is lets get on the ground and actually fix these problems."
The Vice President continued, "But they want to do a delicate dance, the Qataris and the Pakistani's want to make sure that we do this in the right way. So I'm trying to be respectful. Given my position in the last year-and-a-half, I have to care about diplomatic protocols all of a sudden. " Those who watched the footage of Vance quickly took to social media to criticize his remarks. One wrote, "Another reason he will never be president. " A second said, "The incompetence and ineptitude of these people is off the charts. He understands nothing." It came as Trump posted a photo of a mystery blonde woman with a bizarre caption — sending the internet into meltdown.
