8. These people blow my mind

The ones who make such comments to total strangers with the misguided assumption that everyone agrees with them. It's not like they're saying, "How about those Knicks?" or "Do you think it's going to snow?"

I worked in retail and restaurants for years and I was amazed at the occasional remarks, often racist, that customers would just throw out there as if we were members of the same exclusive club. Then I'd sometimes wonder what did they see in me that gave them such an impression? I don't know, maybe the fact that I was open and friendly, they thought I'd be receptive.
