(5,176 posts)57. I empathize, too. I had to unplug last year.
I had to turn off news for months after the election. I read books, listened to music, went out with friends. I don't watch tv at all so it wasn't very hard. I left off online engagement. I have a few personal attitudes and thoughts that help.
This pain is a sign that you are a good and sensitive person. Laying down the burden for a while won't make the world end. Sometimes you just need to take time out for repairs and general maintenance. Re-engage at your own pace. You'll come back stronger.
