(58,448 posts)It was Hamas that orchestrated that attack. If you and Aloe Vera want to call the attackers Palestinians, thats your prerogative, but Im not the one conflating Hamas and Palestinians. I refer to the 10/7 attackers as Hamas because that is a more precise description of who they were.
Hamas is who Gaza Palestinians elected to lead them, not the PA. Sure, Hamas is not one-dimensional, but every dimension of Hamas opposes a two state solution. Hamas wants to slaughter Jews, not live next door to them.
But for Hamas 10/7 attack, Netanyahu would have been out of office by now. Hamas is directly responsible for keeping that crook in office. And Hamas is directly responsible for derailing the US negotiated normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which was the goal of Hamas attack.
Those negotiations were about to bear fruit, which is what scared Hamas. They were being conducted by Bidens intelligent State Department professionals, not Trump hacks. This was 2023, a year and a half before Trump assumed office.
If the war didnt happen, the negotiated agreement would have been finalized, the pro-Palestinian college protests would have never happened, the uncommitted crowd would not have bashed Harris and depressed Dem turnout, and Harris would have won. She only lost by about 1% as it was. But Hamas gave us the war, empowering Netanyahu, aiding Trump, and now we have Trump giving Iran $300 billion in cash, which will fund Hamas. Everything is going according to plan for Hamas. But for Palestinian civilians, it is a disaster, like everything Hamas does.
