The committee has “stooped to the lowest levels of partisanship and political theater to hold a hearing to go after the likes of Elmo and Cookie Monster and Arthur the Aardvark,” said Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch, “all for the unforgivable sin of teaching the alphabet to low-income families’ children and providing accessible local news and program.”


Many communities depend on the programming done on PBS during natural disasters & emergencies and sometimes it's the only information they have in those situations.

The attack on public education is also expanded by this effort. The more literate the society is the more dangerous it is to the disinformation spewing authoritarian.

That they are attacking Public Television should leave no doubt about what the regime thinks about the American Public.
