Depending on the issue, they could go right or left.
I think it's just an attempt by a relatively small group to gain political relevance.
We could have new leadership every few weeks as this group flowed from one side to the other.
Imagine the Senate Majority Leader changing with every controversial vote, or the Speaker of the House, who is in the line of succession, being subject to the whim of a couple dozen Representatives.
It could come to this.

true 3rd party efforts haven't really worked enough, and prior 3rd party efforts were mainly by the repug party
