In reply to the discussion: Israel vows to hold Iran's leader accountable for "war crimes" after Iranian missile slams into hospital [View all]vanessa_ca
(564 posts)39. They do come out and say it. Very openly
down to cartoons depicting Palestinians as cockroaches being stomped on by their oh so moral army.
Example
Following the discovery last week of a Palestinians as cockroaches Twitter post published by pro-Israel figure Arsen Ostrovsky, a featured speaker at this weeks Antisemitism: Face It, Fight It conference in Ottawa, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) is demanding that Canadian members of Parliament boycott the conference.

The cartoon depicts a blue boot with IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) written on it crushing a Palestinian cockroach caricature, identified by the red, white, green and black colours of the Palestinian flag. Ostrovky prefaces the tweet with a single word, This! The post has since been restricted for possibly violating Twitters rules on violent speech, and a community note has been attached to the post noting that the use of insect imagery is textbook Nazi propaganda.
This disgusting people as vermin rhetoric played a huge role in the propagation of antisemitism historically in Europe, and also in the lead-up to genocides elsewhere, said Thomas Woodley, president of CJPME CJPME points out the obvious and scandalous contradiction in Ostrovsky being invited as a speaker to an antisemitism conference, when he is an overtly racist figure himself, engaging in just the type of dehumanization that Jews have faced historically. The hypocrisy of CIJA in inviting this individual as a speaker at an anti-racism conference is mind-boggling, and is actually dangerous in the context of Israels use of mass violence and collective punishment directly targeting the civilian population of Gaza, asserted Woodley.

Israeli doctor compared killing Palestinians in Gaza to 'eliminating cockroaches'
Reservist surgeon described taking part in military operations as a 'public health' matter in now deleted post on social media

An Israeli doctor serving as an army reservist has compared killing people in Gaza to eliminating cockroaches in a post on social media.
Writing on X on Sunday, Sabo Amos, who works as a surgeon in Israels public healthcare system, said he had volunteered to take part in eliminations after his battalion had killed dozens of terrorists the previous day.
Amos said he had requested to take part in operations within the framework of preventative medicine, but said another doctor had suggested his involvement was a matter of public health.
On second thought, hes right. After all, were talking about eliminating cockroaches and other loathsome insects, Amos wrote in the now deleted post.

That's rich coming from Israel. They have bombed every hospital in Gaza, often multiple times.

It's as valid a military target as the Ukrainian hospitals that get hit by Iranian missiles.
