2. The consequences of throwing these Senators overboard is that there will now be cracks in the GOP dam

Bill Cassidy was the deciding vote on RFK Jr.'s nomination, and he eventually supported the nomination after saying that RFK Jr. had assured him privately that he wasn't going to do anything wacky with vaccines. Fast forward a year, and not only has brainworm boy caused a measles outbreak, and is suggesting that we don't need polio vaccines, but Trump has endorsed a primary challenger to Cassidy, and MAHA PAC is funding that challenger.

Cassidy has already been humiliated; he has no reason to toe the GOP line on this. Thom Tillis -- who is retiring and not seeking re-election this year -- has also spoken out.

It's easy to dismiss this as the bleatings of irrelevant losers -- because in a lot of ways, that's exactly what it is -- but IMO every crack in Trump's dam is a positive. It only takes a few GOP senators siding with Democrats to create that good old-fashioned "bipartisanship" mainstream media is always so thirsty for, and if it looks like the GOP is not lined up squarely behind Trump, then the story becomes "Republicans in disarray over ICE murders," and the cracks will continue to grow.

PS. I make no apologies for the spectacular mixed metaphor in my subject line
