17. I've torn an ACL while skiing. But, I'm no Lindsey Vonn.

She knew her body and the risks better than anyone. Apparently, she had raced with a torn ACL before and had a brace.

I do know that first day back on skis after an ACL injury is nerve-wracking. I suspect she was plenty nervous.

Looks like the crash was caused by her arm clipping the gate. Maybe her knee didn't support her, maybe it was just nerves. Regardless, I hope she recovers quickly and has a great life after professional skiing.
