.... He didn't know about or have a plan for the video doorbell. He picks up some weeds and tries to disable it with them????

According to LEO, the Holter for his gun is way too big for the gun and is improperly mounted at his belt buckle, not his hip. Indicating that he doesn't know anything about guns.

Hopefully he is just as savvy about bit coin and if he tries to move the ransom around will be identified and caught.
