I do think there are some here who definitely are trying to reassure themselves. Maybe they can make themselves feel better.

We are most definitely in deep trouble, and it does no one any good to try to paint the picture pink and make it look all pretty and neat if the reality doesn't back that up. Ordinary people don't have any real power because their Congressional representatives are either NOT listening to them at all (i.e., Republicans) OR are so in the minority that they themselves are virtually helpless. Case in point: Do we have a war powers vote yet????

Do I know if Trump is going to try to call off the elections tomorrow? No. But I have no confidence that he won't try at some point. The more he gets away with, the bolder he becomes. And I've seen nothing yet that has stopped him.
