Remember how Reagan brought down the Soviet Union by announcing and funding the ‘Star Wars’ initiative? They went bankrupt trying to keep up with our military spending. We’re doing that to ourselves.

You’re right in your comment, of course. But since we’re not going to stop spending, we might as well be realistic about it.

Shall we heave a deep sigh together?
