The pollution aspect is bad but as the late Senator John McCain said, Russia is a "gas station masquerading as a country." The way to defeat Russia is not just militarily, it's through economy. The results from this strategy is proving successful for Ukraine. Even Ukrainian social media posters who have been somewhat gloomy over the war situation are now expressing optimism and some are even smiling. Smiles I haven't witnessed in a long time. And Russian social media posters are outright furious or defeatist concerning the situation.

The sooner this foolish Russian war of aggression against Ukraine is over the better for the environment and the world in general.
