WASHINGTON — Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) on Thursday expanded his probe into President Donald Trump’s health, demanding the White House physician provide Congress with a complete list of his medications, the names of his nearly two dozen doctors and the results from the president’s most recent physical exam.
“It has apparently taken 22 medical specialists to pronounce President Donald Trump in ‘excellent health,’” Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, says in a letter to Captain Sean P. Barbabella, the president’s physician. “The White House has so far refused to say who all those doctors were, what are the specialties they practice in, and most importantly, why a routine physical for a man supposedly in ‘excellent health’ required a medical team nearly the size of a major league baseball team roster.”
Raskin notes that on May 26, Trump spent three hours at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in his third visit to the hospital in 13 months. Beyond that, Trump has admitted to taking 325 milligrams of aspirin daily — four times the standard dose, while displaying persistent hand bruising covered in makeup and recurrent leg swelling.
“That does not sound like a patient in ‘excellent health,’” he said.
