4. Saw Santana at Radio City in 1998

Monday

Had seen him 3 times prior but this night was extra good. He was on fire and played for three hours. All his hits, with energy and freshness. Played until they turned the house lights on! And then Carlos leans into the mic and says "I think they want us to leave."

Indeed the lights went on at midnight which is a venue or union limit and Santana wrapped it up.

Found out later that he played that way because Clive Davis was there and evaluating options for a Santana comeback. That was the birth of 'Supernatural.'
