A top FEMA official who has made claims of teleportation and that voter fraud occurred during the 2016 election is reportedly out at the disaster agency. The Washington Post initially reported that Gregg Phillips was voluntarily stepping away from leading FEMAs Office of Response and Recovery.
Phillips, a former Montgomery resident, was appointed to the role in December but according to CNN, his departure was not so amicable. But sources tell CNN the departure was not voluntary: New [Department of Homeland Security] leadership had grown weary of the embarrassment surrounding Phillips public image and of his periodic clashes with the departments other leaders, CNN reported.
Phillips was scrutinized in March after CNN reported that during a 2025 podcast discussion he claimed he had been teleported multiple times including to a Waffle House.
I was with my boys one time, and I was telling them I was going to go to Waffle House and get Waffle House, he said. And I ended up at a Waffle House this was in Georgia, and I end up at a Waffle House like 50 miles away from where I was."
