63. I completely get the frustration with national committees getting involved in local primaries...

... we absolutely should be the ones deciding our nominees. But the DCCC's involvement usually comes down to cold electoral math rather than an ideological purity test.

Their single goal is protecting and winning the House majority. When they step into a primary, it’s typically because internal polling or fundraising data shows that one candidate is a massive general election risk or completely lacks the millions needed to survive the GOP onslaught.

The reality is that the DCCC doesn't operate on ideology... they operate on a "spreadsheet." Their only mandate is protecting the Democratic majority. It’s definitely annoying to see national groups weigh in, but at the end of the day, the power still stays with the local voters who actually show up to the ballot box. The DCCC can pour money into a race or endorsement, but they don't get a vote in the booth.
