14. My flat on the 7th floor

Of my building in England was 87 degrees when I got home from work the other day. Not sure where I was supposed to go- the pub I work in was hotter.
The only places with air conditioning in England are offices and supermarkets/ shops. Maybe the library, I don’t know, it’s from the 1600s. My local corner shop has a/c. Sure, I’ll hang out there all day. They’ll love that.
I was in France during the heatwave, in Lourdes. The cathedral, where pilgrims visit, was packed with tourists and had no a/c.
Where the hell should we have gone? Even the Carrefour shop I went to for groceries didn’t have a/c. My hotel didn’t either.
And we’re due more heat next week. This is very unusual.
