... I lived in Coggon, about 10 miles north of Marion. This during the late eighties till the mid nineties.

There were a lot of Republicans but there was always a tradition of progressive attitudes towards education. I don't remember ever being screamed at in a political discussion. But I have heard that it is most definitely not true anymore.
